A far-sighted manager

In 1971, Hermann Bohlender relies on an unknown material

The plant is indeed located a little apart, Bischofsheimer Weg at Lauda, but its products are used in the research centres all over the world. For 40 years, the manager Hermann Bohlender is working for this success. This Friday, he celebrates his 70th birthday.

A constant realism, but also a lot of innovation have made the company Bohlender growing successfully. After an apprenticeship as toolmaker and studies at the "Polytechnikum" in Würzburg, Hermann Bohlender first worked in several companies as assistant works manager and constructing engineer. In the end of the fifties, he founded his company "Bohlender-Gerätebau" and began to manufacture machined parts of special steel as a second occupation.

Due to the increasing volume of the work, in 1971, Hermann Bohlender decides to work from now on full-time for his own company. In the same time, he decides to concentrate his manufacturing on a so far relatively unknown material. He begins to specialise in the working or fluoroplastics (Teflon/Hostaflon). Many products out of this material are developed by himself, some of them are protected by a patent.

In 1997, he transfers the company to his son Volker, but nevertheless, Hermann Bohlender is still every day in his company to assist by word and deed. Hermann Bohlender is married since 1955.

Besides all his professional efforts, he finds distraction in hiking. For decades, he is an active member of the hiking-club Lauda, where he occupies an organisational function. Moreover, he is a passionate hobby-gardener.

This Friday, Hermann Bohlender celebrates his 70th birthday with his family and friends. On Tuesday, the 11th of may, the manager will celebrate again with his staff and partners.

Our newspaper joins to the multiple congratulations to his birthday.
