On Friday, 17th April, BOHLENDER GmbH welcomed company SCAT Europe GmbH from Moerfelden (next to Frankfurt/Main). SCAT are specialists in safety products for laboratories.
Johann Rittgasser, president of SCAT Europe GmbH, traveled to Gruensfeld, together with his 17 employees, to take part in an especially prepared training and plant visit at BOHLENDER. After the reception through Mr. Volker Bohlender, president of BOHLENDER GmbH, the two persons in charge for SCAT introduced themselves: Nicole Maag in Sales and Ernst Schweitzer in Production. A film was shown on the history of the medium-sized enterprise which has been producing professional high-performance fluoroplastic labware under the brand BOLA for 50 years now as well as desiccators and drying cabinets under the brand SICCO for some years now.
After the presentation of the film, Volker Bohlender reported about "PTFE - from powder to the end product". He presented different manufacturing processes, explained which process is most suitable for which lot sizes, as well as the complexity and constructional basics of production. Nicole Maag and Ernst Schweitzer presented "custom manufactures". Which information is needed beforehand, which amount of work for single-unit and custom-made production, what is the procedure from enquiry to delivery to SCAT Europe GmbH. Afterwards, they had a positive and constructive discussion.
In a plant visit, the whole group was parted in three smaller groups and the employees of SCAT Europe GmbH could deepen their knowledge and get an extensive impression of the production of labware made of high-performance fluoroplastics.
